Protect this QR with a password

Add a password so only people who have it can open this QR code.

Static QR codes cannot enforce a password. This requires a hosted access page, which this privacy-focused local tool does not provide.

Availability & Scan Limits

Control when this QR code activates, when it pauses, and how many times it can be scanned.

Schedules and scan limits require a tracked redirect service and server-side scan records. Static locally generated QR codes remain available whenever their encoded destination is available.

How to use this generator

  1. Choose a content type, enter its details, customize the colours and frame, then generate and test the image.
  2. Review the live result and use Copy result when you need to share it.

How the generator works

A maintained QR encoder converts the payload into a module matrix. The browser draws that matrix to a canvas for PNG export and builds equivalent SVG paths for vector export.

Worked example

Typing test and selecting Generate QR code creates a scannable image that can be downloaded as PNG or SVG.

Frequently asked questions

Does Download PNG save an image?

Yes. It exports the generated canvas as an image/png file named qr-code.png.

Which QR content types are supported?

Plain text, website URLs, email addresses, phone numbers, SMS messages, and Wi-Fi network credentials are supported.

Can a static QR code be password protected?

Not by the QR image itself. Enforced passwords require a hosted access page or redirect service, so this local-only generator does not pretend to provide that protection.

Can this QR code expire or enforce scan limits?

No. Activation schedules and scan limits require a server that tracks and redirects scans. A static QR code remains readable whenever its encoded content is meaningful.

Are Wi-Fi passwords uploaded?

No. QR encoding and image export happen locally, and Wi-Fi credentials are not persisted by this tool.

Does this tool send my inputs anywhere?

No. The interactive calculation runs in your browser and this site does not submit tool inputs to a backend.

How should I use the result?

Check that the entered units and values match your situation, especially around dates, breaks, and rounding.
