Method
The calculator converts the file size to bits, converts the selected connection rate to bits per second, applies the chosen efficiency percentage, and divides size by effective rate.
Worked example
A 1 GB file at 100 Mbps and 80% efficiency takes about 100 seconds.
Assumptions
- The entered transfer rate remains approximately constant for the whole transfer.
- Efficiency is a planning allowance chosen by the user, not a measured guarantee.
