Bits, bytes, and real transfer rates
Network connections are normally advertised in bits per second, while browsers and storage tools often report bytes per second. Eight bits make one byte, so converting Mbps to MB/s divides by eight.

Method
The converter normalises every value to bits per second, applies decimal SI prefixes, and divides or multiplies by eight when crossing between bits and bytes.
