Why Wi-Fi PHY speed is not file-transfer speed
Advertised PHY rate is a signalling rate. Airtime contention, half-duplex operation, channel width, signal quality, retransmissions, protocol overhead, access-point capability, and client radios all affect usable throughput. Treat the result as a planning estimate, not a guarantee.
