How to use this game

  1. Move the pointer, drag on the board, or use the left and right arrow keys to aim.
  2. Select the board, Shoot, Space, or Enter to launch the current bubble.
  3. Connect at least three bubbles of the same colour to burst them and drop unsupported groups.
  4. Clear the board before repeated misses add enough rows to reach the launcher.

How the game works

The local engine snaps each shot to a staggered grid, removes connected groups of at least three matching colours, and drops bubbles that no longer connect to the ceiling.

Step-by-step play

  1. The local canvas advances the projectile, reflects it from side walls and detects contact with the ceiling or another bubble.
  2. The shot snaps to the nearest legal empty neighbour on the staggered grid.
  3. The engine removes same-colour connected groups of three or more, then identifies and drops every group without a path to the ceiling.
  4. Four non-scoring shots add a pressure row. The round ends when the board is empty or bubbles reach the launcher.

Worked example

Bank a blue bubble off a side wall to connect it with two blue bubbles behind another group, then collect bonus points when unsupported bubbles fall.

Risk guidance

Mouse, touch and keyboard controls

The responsive canvas accepts pointer movement, touch aiming, left and right arrow keys, Space and Enter. Large on-screen controls remain available when a physical keyboard is not convenient.

Matching and falling groups

A shot bursts only when it creates a connected group of at least three bubbles of the same colour. After that group is removed, the browser traces every remaining bubble back to the ceiling and drops disconnected groups for additional points.

Wall bounces and pressure rows

The aiming line helps plan direct and banked shots. Five shots without a burst add a new row, so building useful colour groups is important even when a shot cannot score immediately.

Colour and shape cues

Every bubble combines a distinct colour with a visible symbol, so colour is not the only way to follow a group. Score, shot count, bubble count and status messages are also presented as text.

Session-only local play

The board, projectile path, score and upcoming bubble remain in browser memory for the current tab. HandyGrid does not upload gameplay or provide accounts, purchases, prizes, online opponents or public rankings.

Frequently asked questions

How many matching bubbles are needed?

At least three connected bubbles of the same colour are required. The launched bubble counts as part of that group.

Can I bounce a shot off the wall?

Yes. The projectile reflects from both side walls, allowing banked shots into gaps that a direct line cannot reach.

Does the game save or upload my score?

No. The score, board and bubble sequence remain only in memory for the current browser tab.

Does this tool send my inputs anywhere?

No. The interactive calculation runs in your browser and this site does not submit tool inputs to a backend.

How should I use the result?

Check that the entered units and values match your situation, especially around dates, breaks, and rounding.
